The Tuskegee Classic

Tuskegee, Alabama on Sunday night, the Winston-Salem State University Rams launched their 2025 football season with a hard fought 20-17 loss to Tuskegee in front of ESPN's cameras. 

With several new transfers on their squad, the Rams came into the game hungry to show themselves on a national level. Despite early momentum flashes of chemistry, costly penalties and missed opportunities ultimately made the difference. 

The opener was very important to the players with Quarterback Daylin Lee describing the encounter as one of the most memorable moments in his football career so far.  "It was a pretty fun experience just to put on for both HBCU D2 conferences," Lee said.  "The audience was lively, It's something I hadn't experienced before, and it's one of my favorite games so far.  We didn't win, but the way the team fought made it memorable." 

Having a standout performance, the Rams Quarterback, Daylin Lee connects with wide receiver Devonte DeLoz for a crucial score / trip to the endzone With Deloz dropping a pass earlier in the game, and time running down quarterback Daylin Lee States "I trusted him, and he made a big play.  The fans exploded when he scored, which shows how special this receiving corps can be. special this receiving corps can be. 

Head Coach Robert Massey stated that mistakes were the deciding factor in the outcome of this game. "We had opportunities, but too many errors cost us in crucial situations. That's something we need to fix moving ahead. The effort was there, but execution is what separates you at this level.
